On Thursday, July 24, 2014 a group of 13 Reattas and three other brands headed out of Portland, Oregon in rush hour traffic crossing the Columbia River into the Washington state countryside. Among gathering rain clouds the tour covered some nice picturesque winding roads through hills and valleys near some streams where we all stopped at one point so the tops could go up. We were told all the local car clubs take that route for a nice “Sunday” drive.
Following a nice leisurely drive we gathered on the grass at the Rusty Grape Vineyard stopping for a few pictures before going in. The group of Reattas on the grass consisted strangely enough of 9 white cars, 1 red, 1 black, 1claret red, and 1 grey. This is first Rendezvous where the predominant color was white. The rain stopped just as we arrived and did not return for the remainder of the evening. Half price drinks and food at the winery were a big hit and many folks gathered outside to enjoy the cool Washington evening.
After dinner the group headed back to the hotel in various individual groups with one small grouped determined to find the ice cream parlor. On this Rendezvous they had to settle for some soft serve cones at a local fast food drive-in, but at least the attempt at real ice cream was made and tradition was not broken.
